Hi, I’m Steve, and I’m so glad you’ve found your way to Little Big Minds.
First off, welcome. Seriously. Just by being here, you’ve taken an important step, and I want you to know this is a space where you’ll find understanding and support.
Little Big Minds was created with a simple belief: even a little compassion, a meaningful conversation, or a deeper understanding can have a big impact. Whether you’re dealing with mental health challenges, bullying, or just the weight of life, these struggles can feel ever-present. I get it—this is personal for me, too.
My mission is to offer you resources, empathy, and a supportive hand as we navigate these challenges together. Here, we’ll focus on building resilience, gaining clarity, and discovering strength—both within ourselves and as part of a community.
On this site, you’ll find articles, personal stories, practical tips, and resources that I hope will help. But sometimes, what we need most is simply to talk.
That’s why we offer a safe and friendly chat service—a space where you can share what’s on your mind and know someone is truly listening. Often, just knowing someone is there for you can make things feel a little less overwhelming, a little clearer.
Whether you’re a young person, a parent, a student, or someone supporting others through these challenges, please know you are not alone.
I encourage you to explore the resources here and, when you’re ready, reach out for a conversation. You have the strength within you to turn challenges into growth and connection—and we can take that journey together.
Thank you for being here.
– Steve

If you’re waiting months or even years for your child’s ADHD, autism, or mental health assessment, you are not alone. Across the UK, families face long delays for specialist support, often without clear timelines or guidance. The waiting period can feel endless and isolating, but there are ways to protect your child’s wellbeing—and your own—while navigating the system. This guide explores why the waiting lists are so long, what you can do while you wait, and where to find emotional and practical support along the way.

Autism is a lifelong neurodiversity that affects how children experience the world around them. For many families, navigating school life can feel overwhelming—but with the right support, autistic children can thrive in the classroom. In the UK, there are clear legal responsibilities that schools must follow to meet the needs of autistic pupils. This blog offers guidance for parents and caregivers, as well as practical advice for schools.

Navigating the world of special educational needs can be a challenge, especially when your child needs extra help at school. If you’re a parent or carer in the UK, you might have heard about Education, Health and Care Plans, commonly known as EHCPs. This guide is here to support you, explain what an EHCP is, and give clear advice on what you, your child, and their school can do every step of the way.
